Deschutes United Way collects a record $1 million

Deschutes United Way has raised more than $1 million so far in the current pledge drive, the first time the nonprofit fund-raising agency has topped the mark in its 50-year existence, according to a spokeswoman.

As of Friday, the agency had collected $1,002,000, and more donations were expected....
