Bend National Guard company called up

Darwin Holbrook, a staff sergeant with the Bend-based A Company of the Oregon Army National Guard's 1249th Engineering Battalion, got word Tuesday that his unit is to mobilize March 15.

Holbrook and the others in the 123-troop A Company will become part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
