State prefers inmate-made road signs

ODOT decides not to buy cheaper signs made by Redmond company

REDMOND - Kimberlie Hollinger thinks she can save Oregon taxpayers thousands of dollars with a cheaper traffic stop sign.

But state transportation officials say they're not interested.

So, instead of paying Hollinger $29.68 to manufacture a stop sign, they will pay $37.50 to the state Department....
