Forest officials studying what size of tree is socially acceptable to cut

Is there a socially acceptable size of trees to cut to reduce fire danger and restore forest health?

The question is being posed by the Sisters Ranger District of the Deschutes National Forest in a study on how to thin the fire-prone forest in the Metolius basin near Camp Sherman.
