Car thieves leave victims stinging

In addition to losing possessions, many feel aggravated and vulnerable

In one week in Bend, thieves broke into or damaged 57 vehicles.

They took $34,363 worth of wallets, cell phones, purses, compact discs and even stereos from cars in church parking lots - all from Dec. 27 through Jan. 2, according to police reports.
