Local law enforcement stepping up punishment for repeat property theft

Deschutes County Prosecutors had targeted repeat property crime offender Justin Thomas Joseph Polit for a stint in prison if he committed another similar crime.

Then he stole a woman's Subaru on Thanksgiving.

The 24-year-old Bend man was sentenced to 13 months behind bars last week, said....
