Schools are changing the roles of student leaders

In the far corner of the Sky View Middle School gymnasium a pack of 10 students surrounded a seventh-grader. Realizing he was circled, he closed his eyes, stiffened his torso and crossed his arms over his chest.

The pack teased him with a chorus of laughs. He fell backward.
