Rod Smith came within a punch of landing a $1 million payday.
The Bend man never connected with that punch, but not for lack of trying. He dislocated the jaw of Tyrell Biggs, the 1984 Olympic gold medalist at heavyweight, in a televised battle at Madison Square Garden in New York.
