Sisters schools delay first day; Other districts start this week

Some parents dismay about late opening, others cherish time

SISTERS - While the rest of youngsters in Central Oregon head back to school this week, Dan and Julia Rickards of Sisters will be taking their four kids on a trip to Portland.

"I love it," said Julia Rickards of the extra week her kids have before starting school on Sept. 9.
