More than 20,000 fish killed by retardant

Fall River still open to angling, and the fish are safe to eat

More than 20,000 fish died in Fall River on Thursday after being poisoned by fire retardant accidentally dropped into the river, according to a preliminary estimate from a state wildlife official Monday.

And although small fish already are moving back into the affected area, it could be years....
