Evacuees hope to go home today

Fire's speed left little time to get packed, evacuate homes

BLACK BUTTE RANCH - For residents of evacuated Black Butte Ranch, the hope of returning home hangs on three "ifs."

If the fire holds, if the winds don't change and if spot fires don't go over the fire lines, residents will be able to return to their houses this afternoon.
