$13.8 million goes to tribes in timber suit

Court ruled highest standard of care not used by government

More than a decade after the federal Bureau of Indian Affairs allegedly grossly mismanaged a timber sale on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation, a federal judge has awarded the tribes $13.8 million in a lawsuit they filed against the BIA.
