Ochocos face low snowpack, but Cascades OK

Some of Eastern Oregon is even drier than it was last year

Warm weather and little precipitation has left much of Eastern Oregon with a snowpack well below average.

Only the Deschutes River Basin's snowpack measures above average - 115 percent for the entire basin, said Stan Fox of the Natural Resources Conservation Service.
