Jefferson County Commissioners may ask for 3 percent increase

Jefferson County voters would have the final say if county commissioners move ahead with a controversial proposal to raise the transient occupancy tax from 6 percent to 9 percent. Though the commissioners didn't realize it before, the proposed tax increase must be put to a vote.
