Bend developer on trial for theft, forgery

Trial expected to last at least a week

The criminal trial began Tuesday for Bend developer T.M. Pete, who is accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from clients he built homes for.

Pete, 57, is charged with five counts of aggravated theft, three counts of first-degree forgery and one count of first-degree theft.
