Tax rate could drop for bond payments

Current interest rates will allow taxpayers to save $2 million a year

Property tax owners in the Bend-La Pine School District probably won't have to pay as much as they thought for the recently passed $47.8 million bond, the district's financial adviser says.

"We may be able to do this bond at something less than 65 cents (per $1,000 of assessed value,)"....
