One by one, the individual merchants who defined Bend as the small town it once was are retiring or selling their businesses.

Add Mr. Appliance to the list.

Jerry Sherman, soon to be 60, is the latest to call it quits. Starting Wednesday, he'll begin holding a retirement sale at Jerry's....
