In the early morning on Feb 2, 1962, children playing in Drake Park discovered the body of Judy Reeder, a former Bend Senior High homecoming princess, in 4 inches of water under the footbridge.
The slaying of the 17-year-old sent shock waves through Bend, then a town of just 12,000.
