Bend voters support new bridge

Opponents worry about how city will pay for bridge, park

Bend voters want a southern bridge across the Deschutes River with a northerly road alignment connecting it to Reed Market Road.

Final, unofficial election results Tuesday night showed:

-61.8 percent of voters approved building the bridge, while 38.2 percent of those who voted opposed it;
