Forest fuels will be reduced, studied for uses

The Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council has received three grants to reduce forest fuels that threaten local ecosystems and neighborhoods.

The grants, totaling $300,000, are part of the National Fire Plan, which was adopted after last year's severe Western wildfire season.
