Doug Jones started out small. The Bend man stole a tank of gas from Speedee Mart on S. Highway 97 in 1990.

After that, Jones was convicted of stealing shotguns from a home, Levi's from Emporium, power tools, cartons of cigarettes " even a grinder from the wood yard at the Deschutes County....
