District didn't take decision to install portables lightly

Aesthetics in exchange for smaller class sizes and more room.

That's the compromise two Bend-La Pine elementary schools made this year to ensure smaller classes for younger students by adding portables.

They're not pretty " big, brown double-wide trailers plopped down on the schools'....
