Famed flying ace dies in Terrebonne

Rex T. Barber, the Air Force fighter ace many believe shot down Japanese military leader Yamamoto in World War II, died Thursday at his home in Terrebonne. He was 84.

Barber, who was born in Culver in 1917 and graduated from Oregon State University in 1940, was hospitalized in May for pneumonia....
