Fairs take caution with foot and mouth

Organizers are trying to be practical about preventing the disease

As county fair season approaches, the Oregon Department of Agriculture is asking fair organizers, ranchers, and vets to be on the lookout for foot and mouth disease (FMD).

The disease hasn't shown up in the United States in 72 years, said Dr. Andrew Clark, state veterinarian with the department.....
