Hoteliers speak out on room tax hike

Negative impact on tourism is feared

Bend's hotel industry sent a clear message to city councilors Wednesday evening: Don't raise the room tax to 10 percent.

Of the 17 people who spoke at a public hearing on the proposed transient room tax increase, 16 opposed the tax hike.
