Fire damages part of Summit High’s roof

A fire this morning damaged the roof of Summit High School, a new school under construction on Bend's west side.

The fire, which was restricted to the rear roof of the school's automotive, welding and shop wing, started at 11 a.m. when workers welding inside the wing accidentally ignited plastic....
