Fault lines stripe Central Oregon

The cone-shaped, crater-dented Cascade mountains testify to violent eruptions in Central Oregon's distant history. Not far from those dormant volcanoes " and less formidable than the snow-covered peaks " dozens of fault lines mark the land like stripes on a tiger.
