THE TRIPLICATE (Crescent City, CA)
Reporter
California's most scenic -- and affordable -- coastline nestled in the shadows of the redwood forests. An award-winning daily newspaper tracking a vast array of marine and environmental issues. Mentoring by an editor with 30 years' experience at papers big and small who has settled in this remote patch of paradise. The Daily Triplicate in Crescent City is looking for a reporter to join its small but vibrant news team. We publish five days a week, serving 6,000-plus readers, but we think big. One reporter's work was recently sent to the Pulitzer Committee. Another left us for the Seattle Times. The pay is what you'd expect for a paper our size, but in economical Del Norte County some of our staffers enjoy ocean-view residences. Our beats are fluctuating, and there's plenty of great stories to go around. This is an exceptional opportunity for a developing reporter who already has some clips to show or an experienced reporter looking to continue to ply the waters of journalism in a small-town setting.
