Construction of Bend’s first Walgreens pharmacy is expected to begin this summer on Northeast Franklin Avenue near Third Street.
The pharmacy is expected to be 15,000 square feet, according to a news release issued Tuesday by The Wallace Group, a Bend geotechnical engineering and construction services firm. It will be built on land adjacent to Murray & Holt Motors in Bend.
San Francisco development company Seven Hills Properties proposed the Walgreens project in October. The pharmacy is expected to be under construction through the summer.
A 2006 proposal to build a Walgreens on Neff Road never got off the ground.
