An armored truck collided with a small sports utility vehicle around 9:15 a.m. today, injuring three, one seriously, and closing state Route 126 near Redmond for about an hour, according to Oregon State Police.

Traffic remains limited to one lane as OSP investigates, according to Lt. Gregg Hastings. In a news release, Hastings wrote the Garda armored truck driver lost control as it approached a stopped, eastbound SUV, waiting to turn left on Southwest 55th Place, and crashed into it.

Redmond Fire & Rescue removed the trapped SUV driver, who was flown to an area hospital. His identity was not immediately disclosed.

Two occupants of the truck were driven to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

One lane of traffic was open, controlled by flaggers at the scene near Helmholtz.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area, according to ODOT.
