Saturday
Nordic skiing, Cascade Crest, Mt. Bachelor ski area, 10 a.m.: It will be spring in Central Oregon by the weekend, but there are still winter sports events on the calendar. There are two freestyle races — 15K and 25K — on long, single-loop courses inside and outside of the Bachelor trail system. Visit www.mbsef.org for more information. This week you can also take advantage of grooming being done on the Todd Lake Trail as a course preview, according to MBSEF’s website.
Sunday
Running, Sunriver Mudslinger Mud Run, 11 a.m.: With “mud" in the title of this event twice, we’re guessing you’ll get dirty if you do it. The untimed event starts near Sunriver Marina and features a 1.5-mile course in which participants scramble over and under obstacles and through mud pits. Visit www.sunrivermudslinger.com for more information.
