The Pac-12 Conference baseball season opens tonight for the Oregon State Beavers and the Oregon Ducks, both of whom are on the road for three-game series.
Oregon State takes a 16-1 record to Hi Corbett Field in Tucson, Ariz., where the Beavers will face the reigning national champion Arizona Wildcats (15-5). Tonight’s game is set for 6 o’clock, as is Saturday’s second game of the series. Game time Sunday is noon.
The Beavers saw a season-opening 15-game winning streak ended Tuesday with a 5-1 home loss to San Francisco, but they recovered with a 6-5 win over the Dons on Wednesday.
Oregon has won its past three games and is 13-5 overall going into its series against the University of Southern California starting tonight in Los Angeles.
USC opened the season strong but has lost three games in a row and six of its past seven for a modest 7-9 overall record.
Tonight’s series opener at the Trojans’ Dedeaux Field starts at 6 o’clock. Saturday’s game is set for 2 p.m., and Sunday’s first pitch is scheduled for noon.
