4 arrested in Bend drug raid

Two men and two women were arrested on drug-related charges Tuesday during the execution of a search warrant at a Bend home, according to the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement team.

Detectives from CODE, with assistance from the Bend Police Department, conducted the search at 147 S.E. Fourth Street at approximately 6 p.m. According to a CODE news release, officers encountered multiple people inside the home, some of whom were in the process of smoking methamphetamine.

Police arrested Thomas Mercer, 43, Christa Curtis, 42, Joel Elshoff, 37, and Tina Elshoff, 45, all of Bend, on charges of unlawful possession, manufacturing and delivery of methamphetamine. Joel and Tina Elshoff were also charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.

Officers seized 9.5 ounces of methamphetamine and smaller quantities of psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana, as well as scales, packaging materials, drug records, paraphernalia, cash and stolen property.

Mercer, Joel Elshoff and Tina Elshoff were lodged at the Deschutes County jail, while Curtis was cited and released.
