An explosive device was found inside a stolen vehicle on a Crescent Lake property Tuesday, the Oregon State Police said.
A Cottage Grove resident recently purchased a property on Skookum Court and discovered a 2008 Dodge hidden inside one of the property’s shacks Tuesday morning.
The man reported the discovery to police, who found out the truck was reported stolen in Montana.
Later, an explosive device consisting of a metal canteen with wires and a blasting cap was discovered in the car. OSP bomb technicians were called to the scene and destroyed the device.
The investigation is ongoing.
