Q: Can you tell me what has happened to the cast of “Lost"? I have seen Daniel Dae Kim and Terry O’Quinn on “Hawaii Five-0"; other than that, they seem to have disappeared.
— Sandy Blanchard, Los Alamos, N.M.
A: They’re not quite as lost (sorry, we just had to) as you might think.
O’Quinn also starred recently in ABC’s short-lived “666 Park Avenue," and Michael Emerson — who won an Emmy Award as Ben Linus/Henry Gale on “Lost" — is one of the leads in CBS’ “Person of Interest." Jorge Garcia (Hurley) and Emilie de Ravin (Claire) have both been on ABC’s “Once Upon a Time," and Ken Leung (Miles Straume) has been on NBC’s “Deception" and also is in ABC’s current “Zero Hour."
Fans of The CW’s “The Vampire Diaries" certainly know that Ian Somerhalder (Boone) is now playing Damon Salvatore on that show. Maggie Grace (Shannon) has had a couple of big movie hits as Liam Neeson’s daughter in the “Taken" thrillers, and Michelle Rodriguez (Ana Lucia) will be back in a familiar role in this summer’s big-screen “Fast & Furious 6."
Elizabeth Mitchell (Juliet) has been on NBC’s “Revolution," Harold Perrineau (Michael Dawson) was on FX’s “Sons of Anarchy" and TBS’ recently canceled “Wedding Band," and Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond Hume) has a couple of episodes of ABC’s “Body of Proof" coming up. Matthew Fox (Jack) played against type as the villain in last year’s movie “Alex Cross," now out on home video.
Josh Holloway (Sawyer) guest starred on NBC’s “Community," was in Tom Cruise’s “Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol" and is making a fall pilot for CBS. After appearing with Hugh Jackman in “Real Steel," Evangeline Lilly (Kate) will be in the last two installments of “The Hobbit" movie trilogy. Yunjin Kim (Sun Kwon) is in the forthcoming ABC series “Mistresses," and Naveen Andrews (Sayid) stars opposite Naomi Watts — who plays the title princess — in this fall’s film “Diana."
Dominic Monaghan (Charlie) has stayed quite active, with such movies as “Deep Burial" and “Molly Moon: The Incredible Hypnotist" now on the horizon, and Cynthia Watros (Libby) has been making the guest rounds on such shows as “Hawaii Five-0" and “Grey’s Anatomy."
So, yes ... a number of the “Lost" alumni have been a “little" busy.
Q: The weekend of the presidential inauguration, I saw Eva Longoria on one of the Sunday talk shows, talking about how she was a co-chairperson of the event. How did she get that position?
— James Marks, Daytona Beach, Fla.
A: We actually spoke with her later that week — mainly about “Ready for Love," the dating show that she’s producing for NBC (and that premieres March 31) — and she said that she felt being asked to fill that job was a “thank you" for the work she did on the re-election campaign of President Barack Obama.
Longoria has been, and plans to remain, very politically active ... and interestingly, she told us that was the first inauguration she’d attended. Also being one of its planners certainly was a way for her to experience it fully.
Q: In watching “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," I can’t help but notice the uncanny resemblance the young blonde has to the original Tina from “One Life to Live." Are they related?
— Barbara Prentiss, Sunbury, Pa.
A: We can see how you might think that, but no. Currently playing Morgan Brody on CBS’ “CSI," Elisabeth Harnois is no relation to “One Life" alumna Andrea Evans.
Q: I can only find the 1983 miniseries “Chiefs," with Charlton Heston and Billy Dee Williams, on VHS tape. Can you tell me if it is available on DVD?
— Greg Phillips, Jackson, Ohio
A: It’s never had an official release in that format in America (beware of any that are offered, since those are bootlegs), but it has in Germany and Australia.
Copies of those can be found by shopping on the Internet, but to watch them, you would need a DVD player that accommodates the overseas PAL video format. And the vast majority of DVDs — and DVD players — in the U.S. are configured for the NTSC format.
