Allan Charles Martin

Dec. 31, 1963 - Feb. 19, 2013

Allan Charles Martin, of Bend and Kimberly, Oregon, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013, after a brief, but devastating battle with cancer. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

A memorial service, followed by a reception, will be held for Allan at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 2, at the Spray Assembly of God church in Spray, OR.

Allan was born at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, and raised in Bend, where he attended Pilot Butte Elementary School, Pilot Butte Junior High, Central Christian Academy; and he graduated from Mountain View High School in 1982, (where he was an honor student, football player, and musician). Following bible college in Eugene, he attended COCC and became a journeyman plumber, soon establishing Precision Plumbing, and (later) Electrical, where he worked, trained, and employed others.

In 1988, he married Michelle Reann Bailey, who survives him, and who blessed him with Josiah (24), Sarah (22), Bethany (20), Caleb (16), and Charity (10).

Allan attended the Christian Life Center in Bend, (and later, the Assembly of God church in Spray, OR). On several occasions, he did overseas missions work.

He designed and built houses, including a house and shop in Bend, and later, purchased and developed a cattle ranch in Kimberly, OR.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping; buying, fixing up, and driving Mopar vehicles; and spending time with his family and friends. He was bright, hardworking, wise, practical, and lived with integrity.

The cancer came recently, unexpectedly, and painfully, sapping his strength and frustrating his physicians. His last few weeks were spent in the company of his loved ones, who are grateful for the 49 years God loaned him to us.

Also surviving Allan are his parents, Morris Martin, of Bend, and Janis Kosinski Paschall, of Redmond; sister, Katherine Martin, of Redmond; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Ruth Martin, of Chicago, IL; nephews, Nathaniel and Ruslan Martin, of Chicago, IL; and many others.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Ora Martin, and Charles and Gladys Kosinski, all of Raymond, WA.
