Liz passed away on February 16th in Fremont, California at the age of 82. She was born in Bend, Oregon
on September 12, 1930 and was a long-time resident. She graduated from Bend Senior High and
attended the University of Oregon. Liz was employed by the Bend School District for over 26 years, primarily at Bear Creek Elementary School.
Her husband, Joe, passed away in 2005, after 54 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughter Vicki of Eugene (son-in-law Rod, grandchildren Laura and Amanda, and great-grandson Calvin), her son Scott of Bellingham, WA (daughter-in-law Rhonda, grandchildren Jen and Kate, and great-grandsons Xaiden and Brody), her son Tom of Fremont, CA (daughter-in-law Tammy and grandson Andrew), her sister Marion Plath of Salem, and her sister Helen Smith of Corvallis (brother- in-law Lew).
Liz regularly volunteered at her church, and later on, for Lane County. She enjoyed visiting with family, her frequent vacations on the Oregon coast, and various crafts.
Our family would like to extend our appreciation to Dr. Dianne Martin at Washington Hospital in Fremont for her care over the past few years.
