Tom Pierce of Eugene and Bend, Oregon, passed away October 22, from cancer.
Tom was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Gene and Pauline Pierce, the family moved to Eugene, Oregon, in 1955. Tom grew up and attended school in Eugene and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1969. After High School Tom attended the University of Oregon and later worked for the Trailways Bus Co., Tom moved to Bend, in 1984, where he was the Trailways/Greyhound agent for many years and raised his two son's Jeremy and Matthew. The last 11 years he spent in the Czech Republic with the love of his life, Katerina Prajznerova, he taught conversational English at a local high school.
Tom is survived by his wife, Katka; sons, Jeremy and Mathew Pierce of Bend; sisters, Chris Hough of Eugene, Linda Shumate of Florence; brothers, John Pierce of Bothell, WA and Phil Pierce of Bend. Tom was preceded in death by both his parents.
A private service is planned.
