June 21, 1947 - February 13, 2013

Sharon Louise Miller died February 13, 2013, at the age of 65. She was born on June 21, 1947 to Arthur and Louise (McClusky) Miller in Jonesboro, AR. She spent her childhood growing up in Walnut Ridge, AR, where her father worked for the circus. She liked the excitement of traveling with the circus in the summertime.

She graduated High School and completed her education with a B.S. degree in teaching from Henderson State University in Arkansas. New degree in hand, she worked as a teacher in Maine for 5 years, teaching physical education.

Chasing the dream of riding the famous 100 mile endurance horse race called the Tevis Cup, brought her to the West coast and Central Oregon in the late 1970s. She was able to achieve her dream of completion of this race two times, in 1989, and 1990. Both times her mount

was her horse “Clyde,” Al Marah I Claudius.

Sharon was manager of Overland Farrier Supply since 1981. Sharon is survived by her companion of 33 years, Carol Gilbert, and her horse ‘Clyde’.

No service will be performed at Sharon’s request. Burial to take place in Arkansas.
