A juvenile from San Francisco was hurt Thursday in a snowmobile crash west of Edison Sno-park.
According to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, at around 3:47 p.m., the youth lost control of his rented snowmobile, went off the trail and struck a tree. Forest Service law enforcement personnel and volunteers from Deschutes County Search and Rescue headed for the scene on snowmobiles.
Rescue personnel reached the site just after 4:30 p.m. and found the youth complaining of pain in his leg and hip. He was stabilized and taken by snowmobile to Edison Sno-park, where medics from the Sunriver Fire Department met him and took him by ambulance to St. Charles Bend for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
