The Astro Lounge in downtown Bend has halted its weekly reggae night with local MC/DJ/irie everyman MC Mystic and replaced it with a monthly event celebrating the island style. The new series will kick off with a bang next week as NorCal’s J-Ras and Southern Oregon’s Marko come to town. Mystic will also perform.
All these dudes work from a reggae base, though J-Ras has a little more of a high-energy hip-hop/dancehall style whereas Marko keeps things a little more chilled out and dubby. Both come to Bend as part of the 2Blessed Tour and will have a live band with them.
