Two Warm Springs residents were injured in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon near Madras, the Oregon State Police said.
Hazel Marie Wahpat, 57, was eastbound on U.S. Highway 26 at about 12:40 p.m. with a passenger, Leon Chase. Wahpat lost control of the vehicle on a sharp curve northwest of Madras, and it rolled over before coming to rest on its wheels off the highway, police said.
Wahpat and Chase, 41, were injured and taken to St. Charles Madras. Wahpat was later transferred by air ambulance to St. Charles Bend with serious injuries.
