The Bureau of Land Management has scheduled a prescribed burning project on a 300-acre area 15 miles southwest of Prineville to start today.
The burn will take place along Millican Road and will last for about four days.
Smoke may be visible on state Highway 126 near the Prineville Airport. No road closures are anticipated, but the smoke may temporarily affect visibility and travel along Millican Road.
The purpose of the burn is to clean up juniper debris left over from thinning projects in the area.
