Last modified: February 11. 2013 4:39PM PST

The Crook County School District is tonight starting the first of three community meetings with finalists for principal at Crook County High School.

Tonight’s meeting is at 6:30 p.m. in the library of Crook County High School. The candidate is Rise Hawley, currently the interim principal of East Jackson Comprehensive High School in Jefferson, Ga.

Meetings with the other two candidates are planned Tuesday and Wednesday. The new principal will replace Rocky Miner, who is retiring at the end of June.

The remaining candidates are Mark Hebert, principal and charter representative in a Career-Technical medical arts magnet school in West Phoenix, Ariz., and Michelle Jonas, vice principal of Crook County High School for the last four years and previously dean of students for Crook County Middle School.
