No date for Valentine’s Day? The Deschutes Public Library system suggests a good book instead with its “Blind Date with a Book" event on Thursday.
Each local branch will have a display of books wrapped in paper, according to a news release. The front of the book will give people a general idea of what the book is about (topic, theme, genre, etc.). In keeping with the blind date theme, patrons won’t know what book they have until after checkout.
The books were hand-picked by the library staff and include a wide variety of topics.
