Deschutes County room tax collections for December increased about 14 percent over December 2011, according to figures from the Central Oregon Visitors Association, and about 12 percent so far year over year.
Lodging rented in December generated $252,250 in transient room taxes in Deschutes County outside the city of Bend. That compares to the $221,146 in December 2011, according to COVA.
So far this fiscal year, room tax collections have been about $2.8 million, compared to about $2.5 million for the same period in the 2011-12 fiscal year.
