Meredith B. Monty Montgomery

Aug. 30, 1925 - Jan. 26, 2013

Monty was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to William J. and Priscilla (Sleeper) Montgomery and raised in Nebraska, Wyoming and Idaho.

Monty was a member of the U.S. Navy, and served on a patrol craft (P.C.) attached to the 7th Fleet in the South Pacific. He attended the University of Idaho on the G.I. Bill and entered a career in electrical power production and distribution. Monty followed this career through the four northwestern states. He retired from Bonneville Power Administration in 1986.

Retirement brought Monty and his wife to Bend, where he spent many happy years helping to build the C.O.S.S.A. shooting range and many joyous days there with good friends and good sports. He took pride in teaching the hunter safety courses.

Monty was preceded in death by his two sons, Gregg and Scott; also his sister, Jane; and brother, Ken. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Norma; a daughter-in-law, Mary; and a brother, Robert. There is no service scheduled at this time.

Memorial contributions may be made to Partners In Care, 2075 NE Wyatt, Bend OR 97701 or The Alzheimer's Association.
