The Bureau of Land Management is implementing wildlife protection closures on several areas in the Prineville District starting this month.
The closures will last through Aug. 31, and will take place on the BLM beach on the south side of Lake Billy Chinook, Route 95 of the Millican Plateau OHV Trail System, Route 25 of the North Millican OHV Trail System, the south side of the Trout Creek Trail, the Horny Hollow Trail, and the southeast side of the Dry River Canyon Trail. Portions of roads in the Cline Buttes Recreation area will also be closed.
The purpose of the closure is to protect golden and bald eagles during sensitive nesting periods.
