Wanted: Star senior volunteers

Published: February 01. 2013 4:00AM PST

Home Instead Senior Care is accepting nominations for its “Salute to Senior Service Program," which recognizes people 65 or older who volunteer at least 15 hours. Winners will have a chance to have $5,000 donated to their favorite charity.

According to contest’s rules, the top volunteers from each state will be chosen via the program’s website (www.salutetosenior service.com) and have their stories posted to the website’s wall of fame. Home Instead will then make a $500 donation to each state winner’s favorite charity.

A panel will pick the country’s top volunteer from this list of state winners; Home Instead will give $5,000 to their charity of choice.

People can be nominated through the program’s website. Entries can also be mailed to: Salute to Senior Service, P.O. Box 285, Bellevue, NE 68005. All nominations are due by March 31.
