Our mother's life began in Portland as the daughter of Hiram and Elizabeth Mousseau. In 1944, she married M/Sgt Grady Edgar. Their Army life travels took them to Japan, Texas, Washington, pre-state Alaska, and California. His sudden death in 1965, left her with four children to raise alone. So, at age 41, Mom received her degree in nursing and began working at Salem General Hospital.
In 1979, she was introduced and married to Otto Creston " Crete" Close of Bend. She continued her nursing career at St. Charles until her retirement. Working almost exclusively on the medical floor, she touched the lives of many, many CO patients and families.
Her second love, Crete, died December 12, 2010.
She loved to travel, dance, and laugh at gatherings with her family and
close friends. Her caring, commitment, and love will be so missed by all of us.
She will be buried with Crete, later this year in McCall, Idaho.
She will always be remembered by her grateful Children: Terry & Joyce Edgar, Cheryl & Don Spagnolini, Robin Edgar, Jay & Toni Edgar; Grandchildren: Troy & Kari Edgar, Polly & Todd Hendrix, Tracey Traverso, Jordan & Ashley Edgar, Anessa & Chris Kelly; and Great-Grandchildren: Grady, Kayla, Tyler, Reece, Faith, Grace, and Jack.
